Helmut Hermann Wittler (* 28. September 1913 in Osnabrück; † 30. Dezember 1987 ebenda) war römisch-katholischer Bischof von Osnabrück von 1957 bis 1987.

Helmut Hermann Wittler war der jüngere Sohn aus der Ehe von Adolf Wittler und Marie Anne Kovermann. Sein um sechs Jahre älterer Bruder Walter wurde ebenfalls Priester. Helmut Wittler studierte nach dem Abitur 1932 am Gymnasium Carolinum zunächst in Münster Katholische Theologie und Philosophie, wechselte aber 1933 an das Pontificium Collegium Germanicum et Hungaricum de Urbe nach Rom und beendete 1938 sein Studium an der Päpstlichen Universität Gregoriana. Am 30. Oktober 1938 empfing er das Sakrament der Priesterweihe in Osnabrück. 1940 wurde er zum Doktor der Theologie promoviert. von 1940 bis 1945 war er Kaplan in Twistringen. 1945 berief ihn Erzbischof Wilhelm Berning als Bischöflichen Kaplan und Geheimsekretär nach Osnabrück. Nach dem Tod von Berning wurde Wittler Bistumsverwalter; Bischof Franziskus Demann bestellte ihn am 22. September 1956 zum Generalvikar.

Helmut Hermann Wittler was the younger son of Adolf Wittler and Marie Anne Kovermann. His brother Walter, who was six years older, also became a priest. Helmut Wittler studied Catholic theology and philosophy in Münster after graduating high school in 1932 at the Gymnasium Carolinum, moved to the Pontifical Collegium Germanicum and Hungaricum de Urbe in Rome 1933 and finished his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in 1938. On October 30th 1938, he received the sacrament of Holy Orders in Osnabrück. In 1940 he received his doctorate in theology. From 1940 to 1945 he was chaplain in Twistringen. In 1945, Archbishop Wilhelm Berning appointed him as episcopal chaplain and secret secretary to Osnabrück. After Berning's death, Wittler became a diocesan administrator; Bishop Francis Demann appointed him Vicar General on September 22nd 1956.
