FR La fontaine des Trois Ormeaux a été édifiée sur la place du même nom en 1632, sous la protection de la Vierge Marie qui trône au coin de la place. L’histoire raconte qu’un citoyen aixois refusa de se soumettre aux troupes de Charles Quint et fut alors pendu à l’un des trois ormeaux. Ces arbres ont aujourd’hui disparu et ont été remplacés par des érables. La fontaine est aujourd’hui approvisionnée par l’eau de ville.
EN The fountain of the Three Ormeaux was built on the square of the same name in 1632, under the protection of the Virgin Mary who sits at the corner of the square. The story tells that a citizen of Aix refused to submit to the troops of Charles V and was then hanged on one of the three abalone. These trees have now disappeared and have been replaced by maple trees. The fountain is now supplied by city water.
