Cette église dont la nef remonte au XIIème siècle reçoit, en 1490, un nouveau choeur à chevet plat et deux chapelles latérales voûtées sur croisées d'ogives, à l'initiative du Seigneur de Cangé. Un clocher surmonte la toiture depuis le XVème siècle. L'intérieur de l'édifice, restauré et repeint au XIXème siècle, renferme un riche mobilier composé de tableaux, sculptures et vitraux. L'un d'eux, réalisé en 1882 par Lucien-Léopold Lobin, représente Saint Avertin guérissant un pauvre de son mal de tête. Cette scène rappelle la mémoire du saint dont la commune a pris le nom en 1371, ermite guérisseur venu habiter dans les bois de Congé après l'assassinat de Thomas Beckett. Saint Avertin y fut inhumé en 1180.

This church whose nave dates back to the twelfth century receives, in 1490, a new flat chevet choir and two lateral vaulted vaulted chapels at the initiative of the Lord of Cange. A bell tower overcomes the roof since the 15th century. The interior of the building, restored and repainted in the nineteenth century, contains a rich furniture consisting of paintings, sculptures and stained glass. One of them, made in 1882 by Lucien-Leopold Lobin, represents Saint Avertin healing a poor man from his headache. This scene recalls the memory of the saint whose name took the name in 1371, hermit healer came to live in the woods of Leave after the assassination of Thomas Beckett. Saint Avertin was buried there in 1180.
