The orginal column was created by prisoners of Majdanek Concentration Camp, accordingly to a design of Albin Maria Boniecki. The Germans wanted to show it to the members of the Red Cross who visited the camp.
It can be found in Field III (one of the sections of the concentration camp) and the prisoners placed in secret some ashes taken from the crematorium in the base of the column.
