The town of Sharon is located in Western Oklahoma on Highway 34, about 12 miles south of Woodward. The town is small in size (1/10 of a mile square) and in population (144). This is an agricultural community, dealing primarily in wheat, poultry and livestock.

A post office was established here on June 12, 1885, but settlement wasn't officially opened until the Cherokee Outlet opening in 1893. The town was first named Hackberry but the name was later changed to Sharon, after one of two families who owned the town site.

The post office is a tan brick building with a gabled roof, located at 114 Main Street. The counter is open Mon-Fri from noon to 4:00, and on Saturday from 10:00-12:00. The lobby and post office box access is available 24 hours Mon-Sat.
