This courthouse replaced the old courthouse on Athol Street in Douglas from 1996 and is now the only operational courthouse on the Isle of Man.
The Court complex has since it opened housed all the Island's courts and tribunals. The court structure of the Isle of Man can be found at the following link.

The court complex includes the main building where courts 1 to 5 are located and the adjacent Registries building where courts 6, 7 and 8 can be found.
The main building is a glass and conrete structure finished in white, while the Registries building designed by Ellis Brown has banded brickwork on the ground floor. The architects for the main building were RMJM (formerly Robert Matthew Johnson-Marshall.
