EN: The train station of Burgdorf is located north of the old town. It is located on the line between Bern and Olten, which was commissioned in 1857 by the Swiss Central Railway (SCB). In 1899 Burgdorf additionally became one of the terminus of the Burgdorf-Thun Railway, which was Europe's first fully electrified railway line. Both lines are still in operation, the line Bern-Olten is operated today by the SBB, the line to Thun by the BLS. Since 2004, long-distance trains bypass the section around Burgdorf via a faster new line routing. The old route is still used by freight trains and regional transport. Burgdorf is served by InterRegio and RegioExpress connections between Bern and Olten and the regional trains S4 and S44 of the S-Bahn Bern, as well as regional trains via Konolfingen to Thun.

The current station is a three-storey building with one-story extensions on both sides which also house some shops. It was probably built in the 1960s or 1970s.
