This is a rare example of the use of The Royal Coat of Arms on the Island as although the British Monarch is Lord of Man and head of state the Island is not part of the United Kingdom and is rather a Crown Dependency.

The Isle of Man has its own Coat of Arms and this also displayed on the exterior of the Legislative Buildings.

The Royal Court of Arms of the United King is the official coats of Arms of the British Monarch. The Queen used the Arms in her official capacity as monarch in the United Kingdom.

The sculpture is made from terracotta and fits well with the red brickwork of the building.
