The monument is in a city-owned park east of downtown. The area of the park is dedicated to many veteran memorials. Being a city with many military installations (US Air Force Academy, Army's Fort Carson, Schriever Air Force Base, Peterson Air Force Base, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Station), the veterans memorials are appropriate and often visited.
