NZ0558 - USGS '1323' BM - Selma, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey pipe cap from 1904 in poor condition, based on the concrete post being bent to one side. It's a pipe cap surrounded by a concrete sleeve and projecting about one foot above the ground. This station is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 1325'. The cap has the elevation stamping of '1324.810' and '1323' stamped on its face. The NGS datasheet is adequate for station recovery. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

A UNITED STATES GEOLOGICAL SURVEY STANDARD CAP STAMPED 1324.840 B 1904 AND RIVETED TO A 3 1/2 INCH IRON PIPE CONCRETED IN A TILE PROJECTING 18 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND.
