This primary school was definitely part of a major program of education launched in the 50's, which went on into the 60's. Thousands of schools like this were built all over the country, even in remote places like this, with tiny communities.
Nowadays, due to the demographic desertification of the inland villages, most of them were abandoned, while some others are being used by the communities for social purposes.
The status of this one is not clear. It's not abandoned but it doesn't show evidence of use in the last months or years.
