Art Deco front on the old movie theater seems at odds with its Spanish style roofline. It is now a church.

Cinema Treasures

The Texas Theatre was built and operated by the Wojtek brothers, who also had the Alamo Theatre in Robert Lee, TX. Both theatres were in continuous operation from at least 1940 until the late-1970’s.

This small theater is made of cinder block with a tin roof. The street level has some nice use of glass blocks, and the marquee is a nice red and yellow with no neon.

Year Theater Opened: 1940

Number of Screen(s): 1
