The renovated Cole Theater has been restored to is former glory. It is an eyecatching building just 1/2 block east of the courthouse square in beautiful downtown Hallettsville TX.

From CinemaTreasures.com: (visit link)

"This small-town theater features a cream colored facade with red trim and red tile awnings. The building is probably from the ‘20s. The street level is unfinished wood, and the lobby appears to have been redone in a '70s basement style with woodgrained fiberboard. The marquee is very simple, and the neon appears functional.

The Cole opened in 1929, and was owned by Mart Cole, who eventually owned a chain of theatres in South Central Texas. It seated 700, and featured Spanish murals, which still exist."
