EN: The old stone cross stands at the entrance to Kirchbachstrasse in the village center of Wittnau.
It is about four meters high and has a surface structured like wood. The Jesus figure is made of stone, too. In the pedestal is a weathered inscription, the text is probably: "in the cross is love". At the back, the cross is supported by a metal strut.
DE: Das alte Steinkreuz steht am Eingang zur Kirchbachstrasse im Dorfzentrum von Wittnau.
Es ist rund vier Meter hoch und hat eine wie Holz strukturierte Oberfläche. Auch die Jesus-Figur ist aus Stein. Im Sockel steht eine verwitterte Inschrift, der Text ist vermutlich: "Im Kreuz ist Liebe". An der rückseite wirde das Kreuz durch eine Metallstrebe gestützt.
