The Sefton Hotel was completed in 1895 and is one of the few large hotels to remain on the Douglas sea front.

The Sefton is one of the largest hotels on the promenade and was desgined by W. J. Rennison, the central section was completed by 1892 and the wings were added c. 1895.

Today the Hotel features a unique indoor Atrium Water Garden designed by Kellett and Robinson.

The following is an extract from Volume V: 'A New History of the Isle of Man' by John Belchem
'One of Rennison's last major projects was the Sefton Hotel, completed in 1895 and featuring gothic turrets, a hallmark of his.'

The wide archways on either side were originally designed for carriages to enter and exist having driven around the back of the Hotel to pick-up or drop-off guests.
