The Art Deco facade of the former Crescent Picture House now incorpoated in to the Soectrum Apartments on Central Promenade in Douglas.

The Crescent Picture House was designed by Harry Lomas of the firm Lomas & Barratt and opened on 9th June 1920. Harry Lomas also designed the former Royalty Cinema in Walpole Avenue.

The facade features white falance tlies and cladding with classical decorative motifs. The pilasters are of granite and there is a swagged frieze below the parapet.

The cinema closed in the early 1970 and the interior was converted into an exhibition hall for waxworks and an amusement arcade.

In 2008 the auditorium was demolished to build the Spectrum Apartments but the facade was retained. This work was completed in 2009 by Heritage Homes.
