Macy and Company Store) is the flagship of the Macy's department store chain; it is located on Herald Square in Manhattan, New York City. The building's 2.5 million square feet (almost 232,258 square meters) makes it one of the world's largest department stores.[citation needed] As of 2017, the store has stood at the site for 115 years. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark in 1978."
