Dette anker bjærget i 1957 er et mindesmærke over drukende sømænd i farvandet omkring Anholt. This anchor saved in 1957 is a memorial for drowned sailors from the sea around Anholt island.

"Stands op du travle vandringsmand
og dvæl en stund ved dette anker
"mig bragte fiskerne på land¨,
jeg vækker sikkert dystre tanker"
"Jeg droppet blev en uvejrsnat,
da storm jog over Kattegat,
jeg skib og mandskab skulle redde
og bed mig fast i dybet ned".

Jeg gjorde mit bedste, men kættingen sprang,
tre favne der kun blev tilbage
og mandskabet oppe i rigningen hang,
- så endte et skib sine dage."
De angstfyldtes råb iblandt søfugles skrig,
og stranden belagt med de druknedes lig.

Så mangen stolt skude ved Anholts kyst endte,
og hensmuldrer langsomt på bunden i dag,
til minde om disse, jeg dette vil prente
fra min ensomme vandring fra vrag til vrag.

Stokankeret blev optaget af MASCOT 1957.
Stokankeret ligger her til minde om sejl-
skibenes storhedstid, og de mange søfolk,
der er forlist på Anholt.

English:
The quote on the plaque is a poem from the diver /Dykkeren
who has seen a lot of shipwrecks.
The poem tells about the day when the ship wrecked and honors the many sailors who lost their lives in the sea around Anholt island.
The anchor was saved by the ship MASCOT in 1957.
