The U.S Post Office and Kiowa Indian Agency building, located at 101-103 W. Oklahoma Avenue was constructed in 1935 under a Treasury Dept. funding program. This is a beautiful three-story buff brick building constructed in the Classical style, with Moderne architectural influence. There is a double-door entry at each end of its east-facing facade.

The building is constructed of steel with brick and stone veneer. Its three stories are divided into 7 bays, separated by brick columns. Beneath each of the second floor windows is a stone spandrel. Inscribed on the stone cornice and frieze between the second and third floors are the words "UNITED STATES POST OFFICE AND KIOWA INDIAN AGENCY - ANADARKO, OKLAHOMA". Flanking each of the entrances are the original wall-mounted sconces. A large cornerstone is set to the left of the south entrance, at waist height.

Inside the main lobby of the post office are 16 Indian murals which were painted as a WPA project in 1936. Designed by Kiowa artist, Stephen Mopope, they depict the ceremonial and social life of the Kiowa Tribe.
