The plaque says, 'In February 2017, Chapman University installed this symbol of peace, joining the International Peace Pole Project dedicated to uniting people across the world through the Universal Peace Message, "May Peace Prevail on Earth". Chapman's Peace Pole contains eight languages, including the most common languages among Chapman students and the indigenous Gabrielino-Tongva community. "
