The RJ Dog Run in Pecos Park is named in memory of a Phoenix Police Officer, a Belgian Malinois service dog. He was killed in the line of duty, August 13, 2005. Pecos Park, in which it is located, is a complex that includes acres of ball fields, a community center, pool, playground and skatepark. The dog run is fenced and offers a double gate for security. The only other item of canine interest is a fire hydrant. While it does offer the opportunity for running and playing with other dogs, the exercise opportunities are limited.
