"This two-story building while not as ornate as many buildings in this type has columns that flank the main entrance and the flowers, garlands and other ornamentation on the building are indicative of this architectural style." ~ NRHP Nomination Form
"Only a few buildings in the district reflect the Classic Revival style. These include the National Bank of Monmouth (60) and the old City Hall (2). The National Bank of Monmouth, now occupied by the City Hall, has Beaux-Arts elements.
