From the plaque: "This artist designed plaza features three unique icons - a spruce tree, a bell, and a star. in honor of San Francisco's police and fire departments. At the center is the 21,060 lb cast bronze 'All is Well' bell, inspired by the bells located on all San Francisco fire trucks. The bell rings three times daily at noon. The carved seven point black granite star represents the police department's core values and the Serbian spruce acts like a natural flag pole. The pattern of the granite pavers echo the sound and energy pf the bell and star forms."
