From Wikipedia: "Kurt Eisner (14 May 1867 – 21 February 1919) was a journalist and theatre critic. As a socialist journalist, he organised the Socialist Revolution that overthrew the Wittelsbach monarchy in Bavaria in November 1918. He is used as an example of charismatic authority by Max Weber. He proclaimed the Free State of Bavaria." (visit link)

The sign reads:

November 1918. In diesem Aufruf proklamierte Kurt Eisner den Freistaat Bayern. Das Zitat wird nachts beleuchtet."

Google translation:

"Monument to Kürt Eisner (2011) - In June 2008, the city council of Munich decided to set a worthy memorial to Kurt Eisner (1867-1919), the founder of the Free State of Bavaria and its first Prime Minister. As a result of an art competition, the Munich artist Rotraut Fischer was commissioned to realize the monument.

As a place of concentration and commemoration, Rotraut Fischer has created a spatial sculpture of green glass elements. The arrangement of the discs and the resulting reflections associate movement. The accessibility of the open, transparent space makes people an important part of the artwork.

The inscription chosen by the artist "Every human life should be holy" is a quote from the appeal to the Munich population on 7 November 1918. In this call, Kurt Eisner proclaimed the Free State of Bavaria. The quote is lit at night."
