Glen Prosen is one of the Angus Glens, a series of glacial valleys that run north-westwards into the Grampian Mountains in eastern Scotland. Two minor roads run up either side of the glen and meet seven miles up at the farm of Spott, before the road continues as one for four more miles to end at Glenprosen Lodge.

The road up the eastern side of the glen meets the western road by crossing the Prosen Water just past the farmhouse at Spott. The bridge is a single segmental arch hump with rusticated voussoirs. A dated stone in the parapet declares it as being built in 1856. The bridge was B-listed in 1971. It is situated in a remote but scenic location in a wooded part of the river.
