Pontardawe & District Combined War Memorial is a large granite obelisk. The memorial was unveiled on 21ST JULY 1923. as a 1914-1919 Great War Memorial. Plaques added since are WWII 1939-1945, & Afghanistan 2009. Located in Pontardawe, South Wales.

Pontardawe War Memorial - features a 22 feet tall granite obelisk, standing on a single stepped circular base, & two level plinth with bronze plaques, listing the names of those who gave their lives in the Wars & conflicts.

Originally a Great War Memorial, unveiled 7/21/1923
Plaques were added after the Second World War, & Afghanistan conflict.

Description of Memorial:
CIRCULAR SINGLE STEPPED BASE SURMOUNTED BY TWO STEPPED PLINTH AND OBELISK. INSRIPTION ON METAL PLAQUES ATTACHED TO TWO SIDES OF THE PEDESTAL. COLUMNS SUPPORT A LEDGE ABOVE THE UPPER PLINTH. SWORD OF SACRIFICE AT THE TOP OF THE FRONT FACE OF THE OBELISK
