EN: The Schlössli of Aarau is a medieval castle with a well-preserved tower house from the 13th Century and several outbuildings and annexes from later centuries. It is located just outside the northeast of the former city walls of the old town.

Originally, the access was on the west side. The owner Johann Rudolf Meyer had the tower raised and the staircase on the east side attached in 1790, a little later the main entrance was relocated to the east side. The wooden bridge thus dates from the early 19th century; I could not find any detailed data. The bridge is almost 20 meters long and has a tiled pitched roof. Since the conversion of the castle to the city museum in 1938, the main entrance is again in the west and the bridge serves only as a back entrance, which is usually not open.
