This is one of two, side-by-side benches, of an unusual design and structure. It has multiple wooden slats (2 inch, by 3 inch, about 2 metres long) that are 'stacked', so that the narrow part of the slat is what you sit on, or lean on. There are seven slats for the bottom part of the seat, with eight slats used for the back rest. It certainly makes the seat feel rigid.
The Dedication plaque for Gwennie looks to be chrome plated, and is nailed to the front slat of the seat part of the Bench. It is on the right-hand bench, when look north from the lookout fence. It reads:
"Rest for your sole…Rest for your Soul
In loving memory of Gwennie."
