This is an open space area, that is only fenced against the boundary of the Tingira Heights Fire Station.
Soft-fall bark chips surround the metal framed plastic equipment. It is a simple set up, with a set of plastic stairs going up to an elevated platform that can also be accessed by a plastic covered chain 'Cargo Net'. Exit is via a curving plastic Slippery Dip, or on the Violet Town Rd side, a 'Fireman's Pole' - vinyl covered chain, so it is a bit flexible. There are a couple of swings on chains, on a metal frame right next to it, with flexible rubber seats; one being a 'bucket' seat, with a chain 'safety strap' for young kids.
There is a simple toilet block just up the slope from the playground equipment. Parking is best in King Street, where there is grass verge parking, near the Geocache, GC5Z3RW, "St Johns Playing with Fire".
From the Lake Macquarie Libraries website, the park is named after John St Johns, who donated the land for park usage. (
