The memorial is on the front lawn of the Cherryfield Academy, built in 1850 as a school and town hall. The memorial was placed by the American Legion, with the star of the organization as part of the bronce plaque mounted on rough granite. There are about 80 people listed.

followed by a list of those that enlisted.
