A large Greek Revival building, it was built in 1850 to house a private academy and town offices. Mounted on side of the building is the clock.

The clock is round with black border. Hands include hour, minute and seconds all in black. Hour digits are Roman numerals. Clock is mounted on a raised panel that traces one of the gable ends
