The shell of Port-Saint-Louis du Rhône.
Port-Saint-Louis du Rhone, in this year 2012, celebrates the 20 years of the port and to mark this event, a structure is anchored at the marina: An imposing snail with clean forms giving an impression of lightness, everything intertwined stainless steel wire, wrapping nicely, drawing the convolutions of a shell terminated by a camargue cross that we see as 3D.

It is the work of Jean-Michel Rubio, a visual artist, who has joined the business with pleasure in partnership with the Association Art Book Collectif (ABC)
This Snail is the bearer of an idea of ??sharing, because it is an "exchange book terminal" that the artist wanted, exchange of books in complete freedom.
Benches are installed outside to read on the spot ... if the weather allows it.
All around this sculpture, beautiful photos tell the history of the city since 1737, the year of the construction of the Tour Saint-Louis, to the present day.
The photographic archives are of Jean-Pierre Kuntzmann whose great-grandfather was porter faix in 1880, Georges Flangakis, the Syndicat des Dockers du Port as well as the communication department of the Town Hall.
