The town of Smithfield
was chartered April 23, 1777

The Bicentennial of the
founding was commemorated
with a series of events
during April 1977. The
capsule herein contains
momentos of our time

We ask that this time
capsule be opened
in April 2077 at Smithfield's
Tricentennial Celebration.

This memorial was erected
by the Smithfield Rotary Club.
