Confederate Arms Factory
The Mendenhall, Jones, and Gardner gun factory was located 200 yards west. Owner by Cyrus Mendenhall, Exkial Jone, and Grafton Gardner, the firm produced approximately 2000 rifles for the state of North Carolina at this location form 1862-1864. Prior to M.J. & G, the site has been the flour mill of Issac and Henry Potter. The site is now the Oakdale Cotton Mill.
