After the previous bridge was destroyed in Word War II, this new suspension bridge was built in 1951/1952 and opened at Christmas Eve 1951.
A stamp with the picture of the bridge was issued in 1953.
Bridge was renovated in 1988/1989 and 2012/2013.
Since 2003, the bridge is under preservation order.
