The original Roupov house of Jan of Roupov in 1650 was bought by Countess Markéta Anna Thunová. In 1662 and 1694, Thunas acquired two other objects in the neighborhood. During the rebuilding of these buildings, today's main hall of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament was established. In 1801 the Countess Anna Marie Thun sold the palace to state. After that, a classicist reconstruction took place for the needs of the Provincial Assembly.
