Currently owned by New Jersey Transit, the station is part of the Gladstone Branch. It is a one story Richardsonian Romanesque station built in 1905. This station replaced one built in 1872. The architect was Bradford Gilbert, a designer of reputation in New York, Chicago, Boston and Atlanta.
