The bronze plaque on the square stone block, beside the mature Dedicated Tree reads:
	       [Cessnock 
		  City Council logo]
       BAILEY PARK
In recognition of Private Errol John Bailey
   Born at Kurri Kurri District Hospital
  8 May 1945 - Killed in Action in Vietnam
  13 May 1968. A Dedicated School Teacher
  who was Conscripted into the Australian
       Army during the Vietnam War.
 	His name is listed on the
      Australian Vietnam Honour Roll.

Bailey Park is a narrow recreational park right beside Cessnock Road, with a walkway and cycleway running through it.
