"Otego Elementary School will close its doors on Aug. 31, following a 6-1 decision by the Unatego Central School Board of Education at its regular Monday meeting. More than 50 people attended the session in the Junior-Senior High School cafeteria in Wells Bridge. The meeting was moved from the board of education room because of the turnout, but remained cordial...Community group spokesman, Buzz Hesse, said the decision amounted to “ripping the heart out of our community.”"
