At the intersection with Hood Avenue in Sisters, turn onto Elm Street. In about 0.4 miles, Elm Street becomes FR16, Three Creek Lake Road. Travel S from the intersection for about 2.8 mile and turn right onto FR1600-300. Proceed generally WNW about 0.3 miles, crossing Whychus Creek, to a gate.
Type of survey mark: 3" brass cap on iron pipe; rising 6" in a mound of stones
What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?:
The quarter corner bears N, about 1230' from the gate. It is W, about 25' from a fence which is no longer maintained. There are two proximate U-posts. One, with PROPERTY BOUNDARY and LAND SURVEY MONUMENT signs, bears S, 31" distant. The other, with a PROPERTY BOUNDARY sign, bears E, 34" from the corner. Found two ponderosa pines, the original reference trees, with faded red paint but no blazes or metal signs.
What property is this mark defining?:
Deschutes National Forest land SE from the corner, else private property ; see also survey CS00584, filed in the Deschutes County Surveyors Office
