L. L. Phillips has a tree stump headstone which is made of marble instead of granite. It is a tree stump resting on four horizontal logs.

Marble headstone are notoriously difficult to read with the variations of color, after the years take their toll. Mr. Phillips inscription is written in raised lettering and reads:

L. L. Phillips
Mch. 12, 1868
Nov. 23, 1912
Asleep in Jesus
Blessed Sleep

(I have never seen MCH as an abbreviation for March before).
