Oakwood Cemetery is located on Highway 56 south of Wewoka. This is an active cemetery, with 3150 burials at this date. The cemetery is now about twice the size it was in 1936 when the WPA built its surrounding wall.
Directly east from the entrance is beautiful Singing Tower, a memorial by Vance Trimble to his wife, Elzene. At the far east boundary is a rock maintenance building, constructed by the WPA, and currently housing a veterans memorial.
The cemetery is flat with a few mature trees. It is bisected by paved drives around the perimeter and in all four directions.
