The small church Saint Nicolas stands on the banks of the Ill, south of the city.
Originally Catholic, laid out on an ancient Roman site, remodeled several times in the fourteenth and seventeenth century, it moved to Protestant worship and then to Charismatic Renewal.
Its architecture is simple, with its unique nave and its bell tower.
The Nobel Laureate Albert Schweitzer was pastor, and married the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Theodor Heuss.

La petite église Saint Nicolas se dresse sur les bords de l'Ill, au Sud de la cité.
Originellement catholique, aménagée sur un ancien site romain, plusieurs fois remaniée au XIVe et au XVIIe siècle, elle passe au culte protestant, puis au Renouveau charismatique.
Son architecture est simple, avec sa nef unique et son clocher.
Le prix Nobel Albert Schweitzer en fut pasteur, et maria le premier pésident de la République fédérale d'Allemagne, Théodor Heuss.
