"Vražda v Ostrovní ulici" je slušná èeská detektivka, která tehdy potvrdila, že v Inemannovi mìl èeský film jednoho z nejlepších režisérù. Film zaujal diváky jak dramatickou osnovou dìje, tak pìknými výkony hercù.
Režisér a scénárista urèitì správnì vzali z Vachkova románu "Muž a stín" jen to, èeho se mohlo plnì filmovì využít. Nìco k dìji: Paní Zacharová byla nalezena v noci v bytì zavraždìná, její pokladna vyloupená. Její muž pøivolá domovnici, nechá ji u mrtvé a jde zavolat policii. Pøi vyšetøování padne podezøení z vraždy na Zachara. Ale v této chvíli vstoupí na místo èinu detektiv Klubíèko a novináøský šmodrcha Martin.
