This bench is dedicated to Vietnam War veteran SGT William R. "Billy Bob" Miskiewicz, USA, who spent almost 3 years in the Army during the Vietnam War. It stands at the elaborate Polk County Veteran's Memorial, at Mena AR.

William R. Miskiewicz "Billy Bob", of Mt. Fork, Arkansas, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011 in Mena.
He was born November 04, 1946 in Passaic, New Jersey to parents William C. Miskiewicz and Helen Maciaq Miskiewicz. He married his soul mate, Katrina L. "Tina" Miskiewicz on May 28th, 1981 in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Billy faithfully served his country as a member of the U.S. Army and was proud to be a Vietnam War Veteran. He loved all his brothers and sisters who served with him and those who continue to defend and protect this great nation. He was a lifetime member of VFW POST 706 in Pensacola Florida.
Billy graduated from Armstrong College in Savannah Georgia with a BA in Accounting. He worked as a corporate accountant for the International Coca Cola Headquarters in Atlanta Georgia. He decided to make a career change and become a commercial and residential licensed contractor for the State of Florida. Later, he was employed with Escambia County as a licensed Plans Examiner. Billy always gave 100% to any job he took. He was a true craftsman in his field.
Upon retiring, he and his wife chose Mena, Arkansas to be their new home. He met and made many friends. His kindness and acts of charity were often only known to his wife. He loved the farm, our first vegetable garden, our rides to watch for wildlife, and always had a song to sing with his beautiful voice, and he loved the mountains.
Billy was predeceased by his parents William and Helen Miskiewicz. His godson Bobby Puluso and his beloved brother-in-law Billy Postak.
He is survived by his best friend of 34 years, his wife Katrina; grandchildren, Kara and Piper Nelson of Greenwood, Arkansas; Grandson Preston Dawes of Siloam Springs, Arkansas who he loved very much.
He cousin (and Little Sis) Sue and Gary Elia and their children Chrissy and David and their families of Fairfield, New Jersey, cousin Ginny and Dick Dupounce of Florida and Ginny's daughter Aimee Puluso. His sister and brother in law, Deb and Jimmy Johnson, who always showered him with love and their children James and Jennifer Johnson and Jennifer's son Jonathan Johnson of Pensacola, Florida. His wife's children, daughter, Leeanda and Eric Nelson and son Jon and Lindsay Dawes, and finally, his 3 other great loves, he and Tina's cats, SugarBaby, Harpo and Girlfriend.
Interment and services will be held at a later date at Barrancas National Cemetery.
