On the north side of the Polk County Courthouse grounds stand several small memorials to individual soldiers and one large memorial made of tall tablets of grey granite, each slab engraved with the name of a specific war and the names of those from Polk Co. AR who died in that war.

One of the panels is dedicated to the Korean War, and one of the names has a star beside it, denoting that this veteran, PFC Herbert Littleton, was awarded the Medal Of Honor.
