The waymark is named for the nearby baseball stadium. However, rather than visiting the game, most of the cyclists using this bike repair station will also be using the bridge to cross the highway. In Ottawa, there are only two bridges crossing the highway that allow bicycles and do not allow motor vehicles.
The bike lanes on the north side of the bridge are clearly painted through the parking areas for the stadium and for the conference centre. The path off the south side of the bridge leads to the Rideau River bike paths.
The bike repair station includes a stand, a pump and an assortment of wrenches and drivers. It is easy to tell a well used bike repair station by the discarded components nearby. I wonder if there is a repair station design that includes a place for abandoned pieces of bicycle.
This particular bike repair station is sponsored by Ottawa Public Health. Public Health has attached signage concerning the use of helmets.
