This impressive building, Formerly known as the Polk Hotel. Currently home to the 'Landmark Baptist College' located in downtown Haines City, the building has dominated the local skyline since the 1920's.
Located in Polk County in the center of the state, The Ridge Scenic Byway along US 17 extends 38.7 miles along the Lake Wales Ridge, from its intersection with US 27 south of Frostproof to Haines City and its intersection with US 17/92.

"The Polk Hotel (also known as the Palm Crest Hotel or the Landmark Baptist College). On March 17, 1994, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
The "Old Polk Hotel" or the "Polk" as it is widely known among local residents, is now home to Landmark Baptist College, a ministry of Landmark Baptist Church. It is also the home of WLVF Gospel 90.3 FM, a Gospel/Bluegrass FM radio station, also affiliated with the Landmark Baptist Church."
