The four-story modern structure was built at the intersection of W. Houston and S. Wellington streets in 1964. It stands across the street from the old Harrison County Courthouse built in 1900.

Inlaid in the brick on the side of the courthouse is the outline of Texas. The bright red brick shows you where Harrison County is located.
