The monument is dedicated to victims of WWII - especially members of the so-called 'intelligence brigade' (visit link) (the Intelligence Brigade (ZB) was an anti-German intelligence organization operating in Prague and its surroundings during the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia between 1940 and 1945) and a civilian victims - the citizens of Prague, who died during the last days of the WWII in May 1945 during the liberation of Prague.

The memorial inscription also mentioned the name Jindrich Bartoš.
Jindrich Bartoš, F/O, was one of many of the Czechoslovak pilots died during WWII. He was a pilot of 312 Sqn RAF (visit link) .

Jindrich Bartoš died during a training flight at Liverpool. His Hurricane Mk I V6885 DM-V at 14:30 for unknown reasons (probably the pilot’s loss of consciousness due to oxygen failure device) crashed at Telegre at Prestatyn.
